I know you’re probably thinking this is an awfully strange website to profile, but it’s actually very good and you need to know about it. The AICPA (American Institute for Certified Public Accountants) launched Feed the Pig in cooperation with the Ad Council to educate Americans about personal finance. Financial literacy and the promotion of savings is the goal of the site. As you may know, Americans do not save money like the rest of the world.
There are several categories on the site:
- Tips for Feeding the Pig: Savings Tips
- Tips for Every Stage of Life: Working, Getting Married, Having Children, Buying a Home, and Caring for an Aging Parent
- Tools. This is the best part of the site. There is a Credit Card Payoff Calculator on here that would be very helpful to some people as well as a Lunch Savings Calculator.
- Articles
- What’s Happening In Your State
There is also a sister site called 360 Financial Literacy that is worth visiting.
