About

Kerri is a wife and mother of three children based in the Oklahoma City area. Formerly an underwriting supervisor in the property and casualty insurance business, she now stays home with her children and volunteers as a teacher in her church.  She graduated with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University.

Kerri started The Crafty Dollar in 2008 to chronicle the experiences of running her household on a daily basis.  After having her third child, she decided to stay home with the kids and leave her career in the insurance business.  This decision resulted in her family’s income being sliced by 60%.

Kerri and her family use simple philosophies to make their income go a long way.  Old fashioned concepts are used such as avoiding the use of credit cards, car loans, or other revolving credit accounts.  The majority of her family’s meals are all cooked from scratch.  Leftovers are either frozen or avoided through portion control.  Nutritious meals are generally prepared for five people for under $10.00.

Join Kerri daily to catch a glimpse into her family’s world of creativity.
