I read a fellow bloggers posts daily and I was so happy when I read Frugal In Virginia’s post about “My Mom Mobile”. This is exactly how my husband and I plan to purchase our next vehicle – in full. I am inspired by her being faithful to living frugal and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Purchasing a car with cash is possible and can be done. Sacrifices have to be made, but it is so worth it in the end.

Featured Blog: Frugal In Virginia
Monday, July 27th, 2009Featured Blog: Consumer Reports Money Blog
Thursday, May 21st, 2009If you’ve never checked this one, you need to read it. Consumer Reports has no advertisers so its coverage is uncolored by those business relationships that sometimes distort true opinions. The recurring “Tightwad Tod” feature is great as is their coverage of government issues related to credit cards, banking, or mortgages.
Featured Blog: Serious Eats
Saturday, May 16th, 2009If you like cooking at home to save money and find yourself running out of recipes, check out Serious Eats. Serious Eats is a blog, but it’s sort of a blog by committee. They have many authors and many of them are chefs, writers, or run their own blogs. I read this blog a few times a week to get ideas. They are particularly creative and the blog features great photos of almost everything they do. One of my favorite features is their Farmers Market Report.
Featured Blog: Planet Money
Saturday, May 9th, 2009Although we don’t always agree with NPR, let’s give them credit for putting out good information on a daily basis. This blog will get you thinking. I check it regularly. My husband first heard about it on our local radio station and we check it regularly.
Featured Blog: The Wallet
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009The Wallet is a daily aggregate of personal finance blogs and articles. You’ll find everything from advice on car loans to credit cards to investments and mortgages. This is a nice blog to read to catch up with what’s going on in the personal finance world.
Featured Blog: No Credit Needed
Thursday, April 30th, 2009This blog is one that I’ve followed for a while. When I decided to be a stay at home mom, one of the things we had to do was pay off all of our consumer debt. We had too many payments for me to stay home and quit my job. I like to read blogs like this one that help us stay on track.
Featured Blog: Northern Cheapskate
Monday, April 27th, 2009I really like this site because this woman is quite a bit like me. Her site focuses on deals, freebies and also frugal living. Like me she also has three children, two of which are twins. The site is heavy on coupons and freebies and definitely worth a look if you shop on the internet as well. Check out the site:
