Sales after Christmas

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

We have begun to talk about what type of goods we might target in a few of the Christmas sales. There are the obvious things that are heavily discounted: Christmas lights, wrapping paper, bows, Christmas candy and other holiday oriented decorations. However, with three kids in the house we always think about what we could possibly buy for them as well. Winter clothing is generally discounted after Christmas, especially in January. Additionally, there are sales on turkeys and hams after Christmas so there are opportunities to stock up on food. Online shopping is one area that you need to read up on before deciding where to shop. Of course, people have fun going to stores, but since online shopping has begun to be so huge many retailers have special deals online after Christmas. I’ve posted some links that aggregate Christmas and after Christmas sales below:

Mail Box Surprises

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

I love the mail! This is some of the mail I’ve received over the last couple of weeks. It may seem like junk mail to most people, but this is how I am able to access some of my coupons that allow me to get good deals. Some of you may recognize the source of most of the coupons pictured, but I’ll try and list a source for each one pictured.

Garnier Skin Renew sample – This sample came from Wal-Mart and while the size is quite small, occasionally they will send a coupon as well. Check back often on the Wal-mart site to see what new samples are being offered.

CVS coupons – I actually received two different coupons from CVS in the last couple of weeks. One was for 20% my entire purchase, and the other was for Nature Made vitamins. Since the Nature Made vitamins coupon is a CVS coupon, I can now combine my CVS coupon and a manufacture coupon for the same product, and wait for a sale to get a really good price. The coupons are tied to the address on my CVS Extra Care Card so your card will have to be registered on their site with your information in order to receive the coupons.

Kraft First Taste – This is a program that allows you to try out products manufactured by Kraft, and give your opinion on them. If you are able to get into a program, they will generally mail you a coupon for a free item, mine was for Jell-O Mousse Temptations, and a second coupon to give to a friend. Spots go fast, so you’ll need to watch for e-mails from them and act fast to join.

New York & Company – I shop for most of my clothes here. The majority of their clothes are of great quality, and they have numerous sales and coupon offers available throughout the year. Sign-up for e-mail offers right on their front page.

Puffs coupon – I actually don’t remember how I received this coupon. I literally request coupons on a daily basis from multiple places, usually by seeing the offer on someone else’s blog. Find a couple of blogs to read daily if you have the time and request the coupon offers that they post.

Ghiradelli coupons – These came from the SheSpeaks program. This is similar to the Kraft First Taste program. You have to sign-up for the program, and then act fast to sign-up for the offers that they send you.

Don’t let the mail scare you. I don’t receive a lot of junk mail, and the mail is not bursting out of my mailbox, although I wish it was on a daily basis.

New Keep The Jingle In Your Holiday Offer – $10 Nabisco Rebate

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Nabisco has a new rebate available that I’m kind of excited about. It’s actually the same one that just ended 11/30/09. The thing that makes the rebate great for us is that we love Nabisco crackers, and there have been some great coupons out for Nabisco crackers as well. Combined with a sale, and the coupons, this makes for a great rebate. Here are the requirements, and of course the link to Nabisco’s site for the rebate. Click on the “coupons” tab on the right side of the page for the rebate which is a downloadable PDF file.

  • Keep The Jingle In Your Holiday Offer with receipts dated 12/1/09 thru 1/31/10
  • Purchase 10 participating Nabisco Crackers (7oz – 16.5oz), Easy Cheese, or Planters nuts (9.25oz – 21.25oz)
  • Must be received by 2/15/10

SheSpeaks

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

SheSpeaks is another word-of-mouth marketing company relying on a network of women to test products and have an influence on the product’s development. Joining SheSpeaks gives you access to try out new products, or products that are already on the market to provide feedback on how their product can be improved.

Interested in trying it out, joining is easy. Visit SheSpeaks to tell them a little about yourself so that they can match you to the right programs. I will say that it took a few months before I started receiving anything from them, but since then, I have received multiple offers from them every three to four months to try out new products.

I enjoy SheSpeaks because I not only get to try out a product and tell a company what I love about their product, but I also get to tell my friends and family about the product and share coupons that I’ve received from SheSpeaks. SheSpeaks is free, and fun!
